Renewing an SSL certificate is similar to ordering a new one, with a couple of minor differences. In preparation for your certificate renewal, you'll first need to generate a new Certificate Signing Request (CSR).
Assuming you have an ezywebhosting service with us, follow these steps to generate a new Certificate Signing Request (CSR) to begin the SSL renewal prociess.
- Log into cPanel and navigate to Security > SSL/TLS Manager > Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests.
- Select Generate a new 2,048 bit key (required).
- Enter your domain name, including the www. (required).
- Enter your City, State and select your Country (these are required).
- Enter your Company Name (required).
- Enter your Company Division, eg, Sales etc (optional).
- Enter your Email Address (required). Be sure this is an admin@ address, and ensure that the address actually exists. In other words, the address must be able to receive mail.
- Leave the Passphrase blank.
- Enter a Description to label the CSR in cPanel, eg, 2016-2017 CSR. This will make it easy for you to identify in cPanel should you need to.
- Click Generate.
- Copy the SSL certificate Signing Request (CSR) and paste it into the relevant field (overwriting the original CSR) as a part of the renewal process..
